This is an invitation to participate in a historic five-day survey of the world’s economic experts to determine whether, in their opinion, we possess sufficient human and natural resources, along with the appropriate scientific knowledge and technological expertise, to provide every individual on the planet with all of life’s essentials, which is the objective of the Whole Earth Design Project.

If you would like to participate in this one-of-a-kind survey, this is how it will work: We have identified ten economic sectors as essential: air, water, food, clothing, and shelter, as well as access to communication, information, transportation, health care, and energy. We have also identified the individuals and organizations most experienced and knowledgeable for each of those sectors, as many as 200 altogether.

If you would like to participate, we ask that you commit to devoting at least two hours on each of the five days. To volunteer, please use the form below. We will be writing to you with background information so that you have an understanding of the purpose of the survey and what we expect it to accomplish. Just prior to the start date, we will assign you to an expert organization to study and we’ll guide you, day-by-day. The first day or days will be devoted to studying each organization’s public record: its website, publications, public announcements, record of accomplishments, etc.

When you sign up, please indicate your first, second, and third choices of the sectors that most interest you. Ideally, you will want to study an organization In a sector that you are already familiar with because of your personal interest. Also, please let us know of any other areas of expertise or experience from which you could offer some advice or guidance.

The plan is to assemble all the information you and your associates gather and organize it into an authoritative document to be released at a press conference on Labor Day (as a salute to labor). (Each contributor will receive appropriate credit.) We expect that the affirmation of our potential by those who know, will serve as the impetus for the launch of a world-changing research and design project.

We look forward to welcoming you to this audacious undertaking.
